After a Forum meeting with SAPS and others, Director Bothma issued a warning to members of hunting associations and others - an applicant for
competency/renewals and new licenses, who sign generic motivations, must
be aware of what is in the motivation, as applicants could be queried on the contents. It has happened in the past that the SAPS questioned applicants on the contents of a motivation and the response "I only signed the application" was not acceptable to the SAPS.
More from Director Bothma - All documents accompanying an application for
competency/licenses, must be forwarded to the SAPS and Considerations Committee. No documents, are to be removed by the DFO, as has been the case in the past.
If it happens, please contact Siggi at the Association offices for assistance. If your application for competency has not been received and this was more than 1 year ago, please contact Siggi at the office and he will assist.
