On 20 February we enjoyed a very successful clay pigeon shoot at Mooidraai Farm. We set out three ranges. The first range was from an automated machine shooting clays going away. The second station consisted of  clays from machines coming at you diagonally, which was very challenging because most hunters are not used to clays…

12 March was D-day for a couple of determined KZN hunters who wanted to improve their wing-shooting skills. There were gate-crashers, late-comers, no-shows, and guys coming from as far as Wartburg and Ixopo. Young and old (or should I say mature) were present – I’m not sure why Charlie Gibling (aged 90 this year!) turned up as he normally outshoots me at trap! With that said, we loved seeing him back at his shotgun “home” club – Riva Valley Club.
