The Hunting Committee is currently accumulating hunting opportunities for 2017, details of which we hope to release in the next couple of weeks. All indications are that, in spite of the prevailing drought conditions, we will still have a substantial number of animals for hunting in 2017. Please could all Members and Landowners who have hunting opportunities available contact Chris or Hannelie at the office with specific details on species, prices and facilities.

Due to the ongoing drought, specifically in Northern Zululand, and the effect this has had on the vegetation and wildlife, negotiations have been made with Ezemvelo to put a once-off plan in place in anticipation of hunting opportunities in Phongolo CHA for 2017. The auction at the 2016 AGM will take on a new format – we will be auctioning specific dates for accommodation at the Nkonkoni Hunting Lodge in the Phongolo Nature Reserve CHA and the animals will be paid for only when successfully harvested. Should the drought persist and the situation worsen, the hunting could be cancelled – in which case anyone wishing to cancel their accommodation booking can do so and any monies paid will be refunded. There will therefore not be any animal packages that need to be paid for up-front – and the system will operate similarly to the one adopted for Kameelkop. For example, we will be given a quota of animals by the end February 2017 from Ezemvelo, and as the animals are harvested they will reduce the quota. Therefore towards the end of the allocated hunting period, there could only be Impala and Warthog available.

General Conditions:
1. A maximum of four (4) hunters can be accommodated.
2. Minimum booking is 5 consecutive nights.
3. The minimum accommodation fee at Nkonkoni Hunting Camp is R2500 per night, with a
maximum of eight (8) beds.
4. A daily guiding fee of R100 (per day) per hunter will be payable.
5. Only animals harvested/wounded will be charged for. Animal quota is not guaranteed
until final site visit before the end of February 2017.
6. All hunts are to take place between 01 April 2017 and 31 July 2017.
7. In terms of SARS regulations, VAT will be raised on the value of the amount that exceeds
the Ezemvelo base price for the accommodation.

Impala female R1200
