VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Applications are invited from persons who wish to be considered for appointment into this position effective from 01 December 2025, or sooner if circumstances allow. The successful candidate will be employed at the Association Head Office situated at 45 Maurice Nichols Road; Hatton Estate; Pinetown.

The gross monthly remuneration package is R16 000.00 and the allocation thereof is negotiable and shall include a contribution towards a private retirement fund. A 13th cheque is payable based on the performance of the employee and the financial viability of the Association.

Confirmation of appointment is subject to the successful completion of a three-month probationary period.

The appointment of the successful candidate will be made known through this medium and the decision of the Executive Committee in this matter is not open to debate.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

 OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE

Provide an all-round financial service and financial control to the Association, including various administrative duties to ensure the effective running of the Head Office, and support to members and other related organisations, and Stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE/CAPABILITIES

Computer literate at a high level; experience with Pastel Accounting, SAGE VIP Payroll programmes as well as SARS Efiling. 

High command of the English and Afrikaans languages – both verbally and written;

 Social media literate at a high level;

Possess knowledge, or be prepared to gain knowledge, in the following: the Firearms Control Act; KZN Nature Conservation Ordinance; Identification of game species; firearm types and calibres; the Wildlife Farming Industry and related Stakeholders.

Have demonstrated a belief and promote ethical hunting and the sustainable use of our natural resources.

TASKS

Provide a professional service to the Association – which includes: the Head Office; various Branches; the membership; the Executive management; and Stakeholders;

Specific duties include: Cash and budget control; Control of stock and stock taking; Administration of debtors and creditors; Administration of members, including the issuing of hunting licences and preparing firearm endorsement letters to SAPS/CFR on behalf of members.

Out of office duties include the delivery and collection of postal items, including Postnet; Banking; purchase of refreshments and consumables for the office.

Assist with fundraising events and where appropriate source sponsors;

Assist with organising and administering Association events – for example the Annual General Meeting;

Be prepared to use personal vehicle for official duties; mileage will be reimbursed at the applicable rate;

Support the ideology of the sustainable use of a renewable resource;

Any other task which is relevant to the job description, even of a remedial nature, as required from time to time.
